Is it time that your school or organisation switched to an electric minibus? Castle Minibus are pleased to be able to offer the Maxus EDeliver9 Minibus in either 14 seats (13 passenger plus driver) or the 9 seater WAV (8 passengers plus driver) with room and an electric lift for a wheelchair.

Why have Castle Minibus chosen to offer Maxus Minibuses and vans?

The UK may not be over-familiar (yet) with the Maxus brand and its Chinese owner Saic, but when we tell you that  Maxus is the name used for LDV products in China, where they are built, and that Saic is a leading EV producer your confidence in our decision to offer these vehicles is likely to increase.

In 2009, SAIC Motor acquired the LDV company and its Maxus brand. The name Maxus is a natural combination of ‘Max’, meaning unlimited or vast and ‘us’ meaning everybody or every user.

The Maxus eDeliver9 Minibus

The eDeliver range from Maxus was designed to maximise payload and performance. All the vans and minibuses have a very clean, sleek and modern look to them and have already made a real impact in the commercial vehicle arena.

The Maxus eDeliver9 Minibus has an impressive mileage range of up to 185 miles with the largest battery size (88.55 kWh). Your other choices are a 51.5kWh battery with a 112 mile range and a 146-mile range with the 72kWh version.

The time it takes to charge depends on the speed of the charger you use, and the size of your battery. An ultra-rapid charger at 150kW would charge a 51.5kWH battery to 100% in under half an hour, whereas a 72kWh battery with a 7kW charger would take over 10 hours – perfect if you intend to charge your vehicles overnight.

Castle Minibus is pleased to be able to offer the Maxus minibuses as we see it as a real contender in the minibus market offering both range and payload.  The biggest battery on offer is 88.55kWh which offers a mileage range second only to the Ford E-Transit Minibus. Many of its electric minibus rival brands offer significantly less.

Deciding which option is best for your school or organisation

You will know whether you need access for a wheelchair, in which case the 9-seater WAV would be best for you. Currently, you will need a D1 entitlement to drive the Ford E-Transit and Maxus eDeliver3 Minibuses.

We can help you weigh up your options on battery size to ensure you have the right battery for your intended use. Larger batteries are heavier and can impact the vehicle’s performance, but provide a larger mileage range, while a smaller battery will optimise the vehicle’s performance, but the mileage range is reduced. Understanding how you intend to use the minibus is key to this decision.

Give Castle Minibus a call on 01869 253744 or email enquiries@castleminibus.co.uk to discuss your needs and we can give you a quote to lease a Maxus eDeliver9 minibus and arrange a demonstration.
